Universal ™ 1-7/8" Hose Coupling for Connecting Two Hoses ST19-2748

Hose Coupling works great! Would have been 5 stars except when you add the shipping it's pretty pricey. Wish it had been available locally...

The part is solid, well-constructed, and high-quality.

I expected a simple through-couple to connect the two hose ends (having removed the nozzle and machine couple-point) together, but this is a larger connector that couples the existing hose nozzle to the new clip-on vacuum connection. It does the job exactly as described, but makes for a very large, very heavy connection point.

I've added a picture of the part, in use, to eliminated confusion.

Hose is more flexible than Dewalt Original. Would have been nice to have a Lock feature to match the Dewalt hose.

The Dewalt vacuum came with a 6 or 7 foot hose. I needed to couple a long hose from an older vacuum of a different vendor to it and made that clear in my email inquiry. The ST18-2748 did not appear as if it would work, so I called the support staff on the 800 number and was assured it would work. I even questioned the purpose of the “hook” on the large end and was told it would work. I bought the coupling and discovered that it couples only hoses with the Dewalt style ends. Alton would not sell me hose ends of the Dewalt style to put onto my hose. It will couple one end of the Dewalt hose to the other nicely. Then Alton cannot sell me a 15 foot long Dewalt style hose either because that hose is not available. I wasted my money on the ST19-2748 hose coupling. It appears to be a great coupler for the Dewalt style hoses and I would like to use it but I cannot find a 15 foot Dewalt hose anywhere. Hope this helps someone with a similar problem.

Works perfectly going from Dewalt hose to Dewalt hose. Or Ridgid hose to Dewalt hose. Also works going Ridgid to Ridgid but you’re better off using a Dewalt hose for your hose after the coupling. I like them and I’m buying more
